Hello and welcome on the Centre d’Instrumentation en REsonance Magnétique (CIREM) website.

The CIREM provides NMR support to both academic and non-academic researchers. This includes routine 1D and 2D 1H-13C measurements for organic synthesis products analysis, purity assessment, quality control (QC), regulatory compliance (REACH) as well as custom advanced experiments for structure, thermodynamic, kinetic/dynamic characterizations.

The CIREM platform is one of the approved Innoviris centres. Very Small Enterprises (VSEs) and Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) with some activity in the Brussels Region may therefore benefit from innovation vouchers to fund NMR analyses. See our page dedicated to our services for private companies for more information.

The CIREM currently holds four high-resolution NMR spectrometers dedicated to solution-state measurements and one benchtop X-band EPR spectrometer. Two state-of-the-art systems (400 and 600 MHz) were recently installed. They are equipped with sample changers and allow a wide range of modern high-field experiments to be conducted at variable temperature, including 1H/19F/13C triple resonance experiments and low frequency nuclei observation (35/37Cl, 14N, 33S, 101Ru, … 103Rh).
